On 26 September 2010, Status Quo will release a brand new version of their classic hit "In The Army Now" through Universal / UMTV. The original track is approaching its 25th anniversary and, upon release in 1986, became one of the biggest-selling records of the '80s worldwide. All profits from this updated and lyrically-reworked version of a true fan favourite will be donated equally to the British Forces Foundation and Help For Heroes charities. The former boosts the morale of servicemen and women on the frontline and in operational theatres all over the world, primarily through high quality entertainment, and the latter provides direct, practical support for injured service personnel.
Francis Rossi said, "It seemed like the right time to do this. This release is intended to show our support for the Allied Forces around the world, but in particular, of course, the British Armed Forces. We want people to celebrate what they do, say thank you and also support these vital charities."
The stunning video was recorded at the Kiwi Barracks of the 4-Rifles regiment and on location at the National Tank Museum and is rammed with hilarious footage of the band being put through their paces on the drill square, getting behind the wheel of some seriously heavy military hardware, and much more. The video is an unalloyed triumph and a testament to the work of the British Army. The band were so enamoured by the Sergeant Major who took charge of them that they asked him to deliver the classic "Stand Up And Fight!" line on the single.
Recorded just weeks ago at the Vestry Hall of the London College of Music, the track was, once again, produced by Pip Williams. This 2010 recording also features male and female backing singers from the Corps of Army Music.
The "In The Army Now" single is aimed at refocusing attention on the amazing job being done for us around the world by the Armed Forces and also in raising some much needed funds to better support those who need it most. Status Quo are delighted to get involved with these two charities and hope that the British public connect with the campaign too.

Francis Rossi Shows Cancelled
Due to unforseen circumstances the three shows in Norway on Sept 7th, Sweden on Sept 9th and Denmark on Sept 11th have been cancelled.
Refunds are available from the point of purchase.
The shows in Amsterdam, Antwerp and London will go ahead.

Rhino's band Woodedz will play a fundraiser for Islay Boys
Football Club at Ramsay Hall, Port Ellen, on the beautiful Scottish Isle of Islay on Saturday Sept 18th.
Rhino says: "We jumped at the chance to do the show after learning there are 8
distilleries there. Woodedz and Whisky? What a combination!"

Status Quo Tribute Lunch
The Variety Club is delighted to be holding a special tribute to Quo, celebrating 45 years at the top of the music industry. The event will take place at London's Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, on Thursday 23rd September 2010.
Quo will be presented with the coveted Variety Club Silver Heart in recognition of 45 years as Britain's greatest Rock export.
The event features a superb three-course lunch prepared by the Dorchester's internationally renowned chefs, myriad tributes from A-list celebrity fans of the band, as well as an exclusive four song performance from Status Quo themselves.

Rhythm Force 2010 - Corps of Army Music concert
Quo will perform alongside The Corps of Army Music at their annual Rhythm Force concert.
The event, held in the grounds of Kneller Hall, Twickenham, will take place on Saturday 25th September and will feature Quo, Hayley Westenra, Ray Quinn and The Soldiers.

Francis Becomes Chairman of 200 Year Old 'Glen Rossie' Whisky.
One of the oldest whisky brands in the world, Glen Rossie, is being given a fresh rebrand with a new label, new bottle and a new chairman - Francis Rossi.
What began as a tipple on a tour bus ten years ago has matured into a Chairmanship for Francis, who has taken a significant minority stake in the 196-year-old brand with The Brand Cellar, which acquired Glen Rossie from First Quench.
Dating back to 1814, the brand is being re-launched with a plectrum-inspired label and logo in homage to its new guitar-playing Chairman. Francis also features heavily on the new website, www.glenrossiewhisky.com, where 30 first-run, limited edition, signed Glen Rossie bottles are being given away.

"Official Bootleg- Live In Australia" recorded in Melbourne
Quo recorded their completely sold out Melbourne show at the Palais Theatre on March 13th for a new Limited Edition Live Double CD: "The Official Bootleg - Live in Australia". CDs were available for concert goers immediately after the gig finished.
A re-mixed and re-mastered version of the recording can be purchased via our partners at Live and Pure for mail order and as a download.
This storming show features a great version of Paper Plane which has not been released on any of Quo's recent Live CDs.
The double CD is a strictly limited edition release and when they are sold out there will be no reissue.

'Pictures - Live At Montreux 2009' is now released in the UK by Eagle Rock Entertainment.
The release is in three formats: Blu-ray [Cat. No. ERBRD5035], DVD [Cat No EREDV756], and Deluxe Edition DVD [Cat. No. EREDV758].
The Deluxe Edition of the release includes the full concert and interview footage from Montreux but also boasts the extended version of the new Biography Channel documentary on 40 years of Status Quo, a single CD of highlights from the Montreux performance and a substantial booklet.
