You can probably see by the photos that certain people had a night of it yesterday/this morning... we had a late show in Ukraine last night, so the choice had to be made whether to try and get a bit of a kip as it was a 5.30 wake up. I've had 2 hours sleep, so no Magnum Opus (sounds like a car name, dunnit?) or anything like that today.
We've been staying on a cruise ship (see pic above), which is a great idea, it comes into town for the festival, sort of instant hotel. There were also a lot of parties going on, the main one stopped at 3 o'clock. I'd just got to bed and another one started next door, don't know why I went to bed really.

It's 12.00 local time now, and we've already had a 3 hour car ride, in the most uncomfortable limo known to man before the flight to Kiev, which is where we are, waiting as usual, as we have a 5 hour window (Ok ya) before we meet those lovely people from Ukrainian International Airlines again.
It was really different, we did a festival called the Tariva Games, remarkable for the fact that there were no games, just a 4 day party for between 50 and 100 thousand billy. |
Today (Friday), there's the Miss Ukraine competition at the same venue, however, we did get to see the contestants...wow!
Quite a long 2 days really, it's great to go to a country for the first time. I really try to see as much as poss, but the town we were in didn't really have a lot going for it, really run down, I can understand why a lot of the kids are doing drugs and booze etc, there's nothing to do, and not much work. It's a pity, as the people seem very friendly, anyway you only want the good bits... |

The PA was miles away, as were the billy, except for the first 50 rows. These were the so- called VIP seats. I think on this occasion that stood for Vain Ignorant Prats. It was like they were totally determined not to enjoy themselves. It was like, why have you come here and tried to make us clap or stand up, how dare you intrude on our showing everyone else how well off we are!
It didn't matter that the 49000 people behind them were getting off, they wouldn't commit to the entertainment process ladies and gentlemen..
Toppest totty ever seen at a Quo gig by the way.

We got asked a very strange question at our Press conference, "Do you have any shares in companies?" Bizarre..
It doesn't hit you until you play in eastern Europe how big "In The Army Now" was, they went truly mad when that started. Of course the cloud found us, terrific downpour in the afternoon. For those of you that subscribe to Ukraine TV, you'll be able to see some of our show, which was the usual rocktastic experience over the next few days. As for the rest of you...
A special thanks to Uma Thurman for coming.
| By the way, we're glad to announce that after a break we are able to restore our popular Employee of the month award. July's lucky recipient is our Ukrainian interpreter Natalia, who is pictured here. The prize of a pearl necklace will coming to her soon. |

You also missed RP Parfitt jamming with the resident boat band, I hear he did Spinning Wheel Blues, he wrote the follow up today. It's called Spinning head blues. Mr Parfitt was vocally assisted in last evening's performance by Mr. David Salt of Margate and Mr. Alan Jhowry.
