Rhinos UK 99 Tourlog!
Part 2:
Aberdeen and Newcastle.
Saturday 16th Oct 1999
Rick and Francis at Blackpool
OK, I've been getting massive earache from 'er behind the doors today, which is hardly the best way to get into gear for writing me log, so this will be pretty devoid of humour, (not that the others have been funny) So, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Glasgow, Blackpool, Sheffield and Carlisle were all gigs. We done them, and tonight we're playing Birmingham. So there. The End. bitch....... OK, I'll try again...

Hermione Grainger was a firm bodied, long legged blonde from Cleethorpes. As she got ready for the evening's entertainment (for the sake of the story let's pretend it was a Status Quo concert. By the way this is not a joke, and is all true, as I'm making it up as I go along). Suddenly, the poster above her bed, which again for convenience was of the mighty Quo, started shimmering, and came to life, and she was surrounded by 4 dirty old gits and the Man from Barnes, who then proceeded to leave on her flimsy underwear, and dress her in various outfits until they agreed on one, and took her to the concert, where she had a great time, and then went home, and T4OGATMFB (The 4 old gits and The Man From Barnes) never saw her again. The moral of this story is never write a tour log when the War Department is giving you earache, 'cos it'll be Crap. However, I like my new band abbreviation, so remember that one.

By the way, as I'm writing this, the main tour support Gwyn Ashton is on. He's an Aussie guitarist with a serious rhythm section of Ben on bass and Dave on drums, and if you like bluesy rock, then it's definitely for you. He's got an album out called "Feel The Heat" on Riverside Records, distributed by BMG.(click on the album cover to got to his site)

This tour is yet another Star of David, we're travelling in directions that aren't even on the compass. Straight out of Brid (LOVE that gig) for a ripper to Aberdeen, where we had an extra band on, and very good they were too, Jerry Jablonski and his team, thanks for the CD. It's a bit of a strange venue this one, a bit lacking in vibe, but the set seemed to flow smoothly after the changes we made. We've even put in Roadhouse and Little Lady for y'all. Oh no, back on advertising again, "Virgin Trains. They don't run on time, But they're twice as filthy as BR was! Come aboard today! Guaranteed chewing gum under every Table! Does the bog stink? Of course it does! Virgin Rail! Smell the Experience!" I feel a bit better now. Mr Branson, my e-mail address is cynicalbastard@stenchcrutch.pong.yuk

Straight on to the bus from Aberdeen bound for Newcastle. See what I mean about Star of David? Newcastle is about 80 miles from Bridlington, but it doesn't phase T4OGATMFB, we just think it's a bit barking. Never mind, told you I was fed up. Another extra support band, called the Force...well tight, pretty hard rock but a bit more than that going for them.

Newcastle City Hall Great place to play, if a bit like a goldfish bowl. I actually put my lenses in, and I was having a good look up some punter's noses they were that close . To the bloke about 2 feet from my head; "Wipe it!" Very noisy Billy, they were (hopefully) a warm up for the nutters from Glasgow.

Taking a break for a while as we're going on at the NEC in about 40 minutes, so as 1 mouse said to the other, squeak to you later. See, no humour.

Quo Francis
