Zwolle ..and we're off!!!
Right, here goes...
I can't type for shit and arseholehead (Mike Paxman to
you) (Cheers,Rhino ! ) has decided he can't read the writing when I do my inane gibberish.
I now have to work on a laptop and as a result this paragraph has taken
me 28 minutes so far. Any obscene emails to him on my behalf would be
greatly appreciated...
Anyway, that's all off my chest now, so
HEEERR'S JOHNNY!!!
ZWOLLE, Holland. Sat/Sun,
I include Saturday because we spent it on the bus as we thought it would
be easier than flying, and it was. Nobody lost any luggage, the food was
edible and we arrived on time. I also got tired and emotional on
Beaujolais Nouveau. I'm not a snob, but I did piss myself when someone
who shall remain nameless asked what year it was!
The gig is a big shed, which I imagine is also used as a market as it was
more than a bit smelly when we arrived. An absolutely appalling sound on
our check. "At least it can only improve" was Francis' appraisal of the
noise. And it came to pass that the sound verily did improve at
evensong as predicted by God of Purley, mainly because of 5.000 Dutch
nutters. They're always good in Holland but sometimes a little too
pissed but not tonight, it's bang off. Rick was really giving it some on
a boiling hot gig for me, in fact for all of us it's a nine out of ten
for a first show.
Also, as we are now digi-camerad up (as it were), Pete Hillier our tour manager is taking snaps, which he intends to send with my reports (this could get really silly!) and here's a couple for starters.
Rick's joke of the day:
An Irishman is driving along and gets stopped by the police.
"I suppose you're wondering why I pulled you over." the policeman says.
"No insurance?" says the Irishman.
(For 'Irishman' read musician, politician, member of the Royal Family,
David Walker etc, etc)
Tons to tell you but I've had enough of this typing
lark for one day and it's on the bus to Brussels for tonight's gig.
Love,
