Rhino singing, playing bass

John 'Rhino' Edwards

Born: 9th May 1953
From: Whitton, Middlesex.
Now Lives: South west London.
Personal: Married to Kathy, three children.
Plays: Bass and rhythm guitars. Good at shouting, not bad at songwriting.

John has played with many other artistes, but is where he wants to be, in the engine room of Quo.

Known to all as 'Rhino' or 'The Bludgeon', he is the clumsiest man in the world, who somehow manages to break things or trip over obstacles that don't exist wherever he goes.

An enthusiastic supporter of the world famous Brentford Football Club, he is married to Kathy and has three children, Mae, Freddie and Max. He also has a granddaughter, Elena May.

Rhino loves touring and when Quo are on the road, he can be found wandering the streets, checking out the local sights and tasting the local brews.

Rhino loves his caravan. So much so, there will be a song about it on the next Rhino's Revenge album.

Equipment

Rhino mainly uses Status basses, (aptly named, but no relation) He has a collection of others which he sometimes uses when recording, including an Alembic and a Fender Jazz. On the road he only uses Status basses, because they are the best in the world, and stand up to the rigours of touring. With Status Quo, he plays his signature Charger four string, wholesome value at only £2800 ladies and gentlemen.

Rhino's Revenge.

Rhino released a solo album in 2000 on Eagle Records, Rhino's revenge. In 2015 he released the imaginatively titled Rhino's Revenge 2, recorded with Max, Freddie and Mae Edwards. Both albums are available on Spotify and iTunes. This year (2022) has seen the release of a live recording, Charge! and there will be that difficult third album, Never too old available early in 2023, with a tour to promote it.
